An Accurate Magnetic Equivalent Circuit Model for Modeling and Analysis of Variable Reluctance Energy Harvesters

Variable reluctance energy harvester (VREH) is a good candidate of transducers to transform the environmental into electricity. VREHs act based on electromagnetic induction due variation air-gap with rotation wheel. This paper presents an accurate analytical model magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) and conformal mappings (CMs) for modeling VREHs, which have large air-gap. The geometry analyzed VREH both sides including iron parts, slots, permanent magnets (PMs) divided many elements in cylindrical coordinate, each element then replaced permeance model. region modeled permeances calculated by CM method, can accurately consider real paths flux tubes obtained are used MEC analysis studied VREH, while considering effects slots saturation, accurately. In final, results verified comparing corresponding through finite method (FEM).
